Jigsaw puzzle race
After a discussion about people getting really into something like Peggle and not knowing there are communities for these things. Geoff talks about having watched Jigsaw puzzle races on TV. He thinks he could enter a Jigsaw puzzle tournament and do well against professional puzzle do-ers. These races consist of a 500 piece standard puzzle, not a single colour puzzle. Gavin pitches, to test if Geoff could compete against professional puzzle racers, he do the same puzzle that a professional is doing on tv and time himself. Andrew pitches that they could all do the same puzzle and see who gets the best time. Andrew brings up that it only be himself, Gavin and Geoff because Eric is known as not interested in board games, this falls under that category. Geoff then finds the puzzle the guys will race, Two bears at sunset. Later Geoff is complaining about how hard it is to send things to Canada and Eric brings up that he just sent Andrew his puzzle. Andrew then brings up that he has no idea where he is going to build his puzzle. This worries the guys. Then at long last the results for the Jigsaw puzzle race are revealed. A frustrated Eric announces that Geoff wins by default. Geoff completed the puzzle in one sitting at 04:03:26. Gavins time was 01:05:00. He paused, went out and came back and the cats had destroyed all his work and he threw in the towel. All his work consisted of connecting 26 puzzle pieces though. Andrew then talks about not having enough space to do his puzzle again. He cleared his desk but it still wasn’t big enough to fit the puzzle. Andrew says he started, posted his starting time but after about two hours discovered that the completed puzzle wouldn’t fit on his desk. At this point Gavin mentions that he thought the puzzle race was Andrew VS Geoff. Andrew admits to salad creaming his puzzle. (If you listen to : Andrew pitches the puzzle race timestamp: I always thought it was Geoff, Andrew and Gavin but they never specify so I can also understand Gavin thinking it was Geoff VS Andrew.)
